Ottawa’s Innovation Hub, Bayview Yards has been a hot spot this summer for impactful events, exciting new meetups, cutting edge hybrid events, and more! We’ve made new additions to the suite of resources available to innovators and entrepreneurs. Our community continues to grow as we welcome a new licensee to our innovation ecosystem. 1. In Support of Ottawa’s Immigrant Entrepreneur Community, Invest Ottawa Hosts an Impactful Event
Bayview Yards had the pleasure of hosting an inspiring group of current and aspiring newcomer immigrant entrepreneurs who attended the event led by Invest Ottawa Equipping Current and Aspiring Newcomer Immigrant Entrepreneurs for Success. Karla Briones, award-winning serial immigrant entrepreneur, speaker, and columnist, shared an informative presentation on small business programs and services and gave candid advice on how to navigate the challenges immigrants face when launching a business or product concept.
2. In Celebration of Female Entrepreneurs in Ottawa, Women in Communications and Technology Hosts their Annual Pink Market
In collaboration with Invest Ottawa and Bayview Yards, The Women in Communications and Technology (WCT) NCR chapter hosted their annual Pink Market tradeshow within the RBC Foundry! Female entrepreneurs proudly displayed their products, innovations, and services in this public venue. The event served as an opportunity to meet and network with WCT members, volunteers, and the community as they wrap up the 2021-22 season.
3. The 3D Printing Mobile Showroom Visited Bayview Yards Prototyping Lab
Bayview Yards Prototyping Lab welcomed the Additive Manufacturing Mobile Tour to our community for a full day of consultations, tours, and demos of exciting new products. 3D printing enthusiasts and businesses gathered to connect with the leading experts in additive manufacturing technology, Javelin Technologies.
4. Bayview Yards Meetup Program Welcomed the Ottawa Autonomous Vehicle Group
The Ottawa Autonomous Vehicle Group (OAVG) joined the Bayview Yards Meetup Program and hosted their first workshop in the Training Room! The program provides the opportunity for local curious minds to discuss emerging technologies, build AV projects, network with fellow industry professionals, and learn about all things autonomous.

5. The Product Hunt (Ottawa Chapter) Meetup Takes the Stage in the RBC Foundry
The program welcomed the Product Hunt (Ottawa Chapter) meetup to our community this summer. This group brings together product loving-enthusiasts to geek out and share the best new tech products, latest mobile apps, cutting edge websites, advanced hardware projects, and so much more. The RBC Foundry was the perfect space for the group to gather and network, present the latest information on the market, and participate in collaborative breakout sessions. Join this group for epic evenings of food, drinks, networking, and demos of the top products in Ottawa!

6. Ottawa Cyber Security Meetup Returns to Bayview Yards for their Summer Social
The Ottawa Cyber Security Meetup has been a key contributor of the Bayview Yards Meetup community for several years. We were thrilled to support the group in their transition to a virtual format over the pandemic. Now, we welcome this group back to the RBC Foundry with their summer kick-off social event. We’re confident this educational forum for cyber security professionals and business leaders will serve as a to come together on monthly basis to enhance knowledge, to exchange ideas, to network, and to explore opportunities.

7. Welcome Stratford Group to Bayview Yards Innovation Cove
Our community continues to grow with the addition of Stratford within Bayview Yards’ Innovation Cove. This group was in perfect alignment with our brand mission to foster innovation within the city of Ottawa. We hope the small business owners, start-ups, scaleups, and entrepreneurs benefit from the expert consultation services that this group offers.

8. The Bayview Yards Training Room Showcases a Fresh New Layout & Artwork
Over the summer months Bayview Yard’s Training Room received a refresh with the addition of new artwork, reclaimed industrial elements from the original heritage site, a strategic new layout, and upgraded audio visual equipment! 9. New Accessible Resources are Available for Ottawa’s Entrepreneurial Community
Bayview Yards houses a community library to support the eager minds of our entrepreneurs and small business owners. We provide complimentary literature on a multitude of topics, such as innovation, business, entrepreneurship, accounting, sales, marketing, and many others. We invite our community to work from Bayview Yards for the day and enjoy a complimentary book and refreshments within our public spaces.
10. Cybertronics Series Dazzles Bayview Yards
Many of the walls at Bayview Yards are decorated with the work of local artists; there are original sketches, murals, prints, paintings, and even a life-sized robot constructed of recycled electronics and metals throughout the building. We’ve continued to add to our collection, having recently acquired the mixed media series of local artist Petr Maur entitled Cybertronics. This series represents a fusion of technology, music, and people in motion. We hope to continue to create a space that inspires, excites, and moves our community.
