His design technique relies strongly on collaboration and a user-centered design strategy in order to come up with great product solutions.
Joanne is an accomplished, versatile, and driven leader who seeks to work where the social profit, and the corporate business worlds intersect. Her passion lies in developing innovative strategic programs which result in both social and financial return on investment. She has worked in Corporate boardrooms, on the ground on development projects, in government offices, and on the floor on an industrial production line. As the Director of the Prototyping Lab, she combines the learnings from these experiences to lead a creative, passionate, and committed team delivering innovative new prototypes on behalf of innovators, entrepreneurs and emerging tech firms.
Alanna is our Client Experience & Operations expert. Her experience working with start-ups from Ottawa to San Francisco, and starting her own business, has allowed her to pin-point the specific needs of our wide range of clients. She has a strong agile mindset, an in-depth understanding of business process management and an empathetic approach to customer satisfaction. Her education in Material and Operations Management from Algonquin College has given her the edge required to keep up with Ottawa’s rapid and dynamic Tech Sector.
‘Tick Tock’ Tom is an experienced fabricator, sculptor, and coordinator. He has developed numerous movie sets and can use every tool in the box to create amazing products for a diverse set of clientele.
Petr is a ﬁlmmaker, set producer, photographer, and brand development expert with an impressive set of ﬁlm production credits. He blends photography with digital media to produce a wide array of marketing materials.
Erin is the CEO of Robot Missions, an internet personality as RobotGrrl, an experienced robotic designer and electrical developer. She adds her extensive knowledge of Arduino and IOT and is a proud female tech founder.
Jason is a mechanical enthusiast. The combination of years of experience in design and fabrication with a background in machine automation and software forms the foundation for his work at Bayview Yards. His interests span a wide range of technologies which include green transportation, renewable energy systems with a focus on wind turbines and solar electric, mechanical design and drafting, alternative housing and steam-hybrid drive systems. Jason received a diploma as a Wind Turbine Technician and Industrial Technician from St. Lawrence College.
